Variable Recurring Payments with Capitec Pay

The Variable Recurring Payments (VRP) product allows a simple way for you to capture payments from your users regularly, facilitating various Merchant-Initiated Transaction (MIT) use-cases.

After a user is prompted in the Stitch UI to authorize their recurring payment, they will be able to confirm their selected Capitec Pay method and authorization in their Capitec Pay mobile app. Subsequent payment will then be possible to collect via Capitec, based on the conditions of the initial authorization.

At a high-level, Capitec Pay VRP entails:

• Consent token creation: The user should be redirected to Stitch to confirm the recurring payment amount and scheduling, before authorizing this instruction in their Capitec Pay app. Once authorized, the corresponding payment token will be granted to be able to initiate payments.
• Transaction Initiation using a previously-created consent token: For any valid consent token ID, you may then initiate a transaction to be charged via Capitec Pay, for each recurring payment required.
